Letter from Make-A-Wish – March 21, 2018

Dear Jump 4 Kids,

We at Make-A-Wish Illinois wish you all the best with your 2018 Jump 4 Kids / Chicago Connect event. Your contributions are helping children with critical illnesses live out their dreams, providing them hope and optimism as they cope with treatments, surgeries and everything that goes into living with a life-threatening medical condition.

The people who founded Make-A-Wish weren’t doctors, and they couldn’t prescribe medication or treatments. But, they found a way to lift the determination of children with critical illnesses, and supporters like you have continued their work to benefit local wish kids.

For children who have spent months or years thinking of nothing but their next treatment or needle stick, the opportunity to decide on a wish and look forward to it with excited anticipation provides real benefits for children with critical illnesses including improving health-related quality of live and anxiety. With more than 70-percent of all wishes travel related, your contributions of luggage and toys to elicit excitement and joy prior to their departure are not only an important part of their overall wish journey, but also help extend our resources to grant even more wishes.

We look forward to celebrating the success of your event soon and sharing the inspiring stories of some of our children to impart the truly life-changing impact of your contributions.

Warmest Wishes,

Megan Flynn
